Mapping the Commercial Production Landscape
Plenty of market research into the advertising industry has convinced me there’s no tidy formula for how things get made. There are just too many variations in service providers and specialties for a one-size-fits-all model. Coming up through the film industry, I had always been more familiar with set protocols than ad placements. As I stepped into more above-the-line roles in commercials, I had to catch up quickly on the agency side.
One of my “pandemic projects” was mapping the landscape of commercial production – studying hundreds of companies to understand how they operated, where I fit, and how that all led to launching Claro Studioworks.
